Ghandrung Ghorepani Trekking is truly called as all the best of the trekking as it takes you to most spectacular mountains of the Annapurnas. The major highlight of this trip includes the hike to Poon Hill (3,210m), which offers awe-inspiring views of sunrise over the hills as the rays land on the giant massifs. The spectacular panoramic views of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Fishtail (6,997m), Annapurna (8,091m), Annapurna II, South II, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Dhampus peak, Butterfly mountain, Hiuchuli and many others are seen prominently on a clear day.

The other highlight of the trek is to Dhampus village, an authentic place located in the Annapurna region with pristine traditions and culture. You will descend following on a narrow trail through rhododendron forests to that offers frequent views of Mt. Fishtail. Ghandruk, Homelands of British Gurkha Army.

After the trek, enjoy the greenery and jungle activities at Chitwan’s resort. Hop on an elephant and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to spot exotic and rare animals like rhinos and tigers on jungle safari at the national park. Indeed a perfect way to conclude your trip!

Day 1 - Arrival in Kathmandu (1,345m/4,413 ft)

Upon arriving at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be received by our airport representatives who will warmly greet you and transfer to the hotel on a private tourist vehicle. We provide 3-star accommodation in the city and we arrange for a trip briefing with dinner in the evening.

 

Day 2 - Visit old town of Kathmandu

A professional guide and vehicle are provided for a day of sightseeing in and around Kathmandu city. We visit some of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the city along with other interesting cultural monuments that dot the valley. These include Boudhanath Stupa (the largest Buddhist shrines in the world), Pashupatinath (the holiest Hindu temple in the world), Durbar Squares (Palaces and fortresses of medieval Kings), along with other popular cultural attractions. We get to observe the lifestyle of Nepalese people, holy sadhus and monks, fascinating history as well as awe-inspiring architecture.

 

Day 3 - Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (900m/2,953 ft)

A fascinating and scenic 6-hour drive from Kathmandu takes us to the picturesque valley of Pokhara. On a clear day, views of Ganesh Himal, Himalchuli, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Annapurna will be seen from this lakeside city famous for Phewa Lake, Peace Pagoda and of course, the mountain views. We spend the afternoon in leisure and spend some time sightseeing in Pokhara.

 

Day 4 - Drive to Nayapul  (1,010m / 3,314ft) and trek to Dhampus (1,700m / 5,577ft)

We drive upto Nayapul from where we start our trek towards Dhampus. Surrounded by green hills, you will be able to instantly breathe refreshing air in the calm and serenity of the trail. It is mostly uphill today, but we’ll take it slow to arrive at Dhampus comfortably around later afternoon.

 

Day 5 - Trek from Dhampus to Landrung (1,699m / 5,574ft)

Dhampus is a popular short hiking destination, so you may be able to meet many like-spirited folks here. We leave Dhampus to make our way to Landrung, another clean and beautiful location.

 

Day 6 - Trek from Landrung to Tadapani (2,170m / 7,119ft)

From Landrung, we start gaining more altitude towards Tadapani from where gorgeous views of Annapurna, Manaslu and other distant mountains are seen clearly. The sunrise is particularly beautiful and illuminates the rolling hills adjacent to Tapadani.

 

Day 7 - Trek from Tadapani to Ghorepani (2,840m / 9,318ft)

Leaving Tadapani, we make our way to Ghorepani through dense forests and gorgeous views that surround us. We revel in the exotic cultures and lifestyles that we encounter along the way. The diversity of landscape, flora and fauna, as well as cultures is definitely dazzling. Ghorepani brings us face to face with Annapurna’s massif and Dhaulagiri distantly.

 

Day 8 - Hike to Poon Hill. Trek from Ghorepani to Ulleri (2070m / 6791ft)

We leave before the break of dawn to hike to Pool Hill to witness the spectacular view of sunrise. The first rays of the sun lands on Annapurna Range, then on Dhaulagiri, making it gleam in bright orange gradient. We then return to Ghorepani for breakfast then descend to Ulleri on stone steps.

 

Day 9 - Trek from Ulleri to Nayapul (1,010m / 3,314ft) and drive to Pokhara (900m/2,953 ft)

After breakfast, descend gently down to the banks of the Bhurgundi River and follow the trail along the river for three hours to Birethanti for lunch. There is a check post where all trekkers must have their permits checked and logged. After lunch, cross the suspension bridge and walk a further 20 minutes to arrive at Nayapul, then drive to Pokhara.

 

Day 10 - Drive to Chitwan National Park on a tourist vehicle

A drive early in the morning will take us to Chitwan National Park, established in 1973. There are over 40 species of mammals found in the park, including rare, protected ones like one-horned rhinos, tigers, gharial crocodiles and a host of others. Once we reach the resort, you can enjoy jungle activities like boat rides, elephant safaris, jungle walk and elephant showers. We return to the resort in the evening for a hearty dinner.

 

Day 11 - More Activities at Chitwan National Park

Another day of exciting activities at the national park starts from the morning The tour provides you with a unique experience to see wildlife at its finest! From marsh, wetlands, calm rivers, thick jungles and elephant breeding centers, we get to find ourselves in the midst of Nepal’s most famous, popular and well-preserved national park to showcase flora and fauna like never before. Tharu culture at the national park will also be quite interesting to observe, especially in stark contrast to the lives and lifestyle up in the mountains we’ll have visited in the trek.

 

Day 12 - Drive back to Kathmandu and leisure day

From Chitwan, we head back to Kathmandu on a scenic 4-hour drive. Once we reach Kathmandu, the rest of the day will be leisure and free for exploration. You are free to go souvenir shopping, spa and more exploration of the city, or extend your trip to include bungee jumping, rafting, mountain biking, Everest mountain flight and other adventurous activities. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner at Mul Chowk Restaurant’s cozy and elegant dining ambience.

 

Day 13 - Departure from Nepal
The trip concludes today. You will be dropped at Kathmandu's Tribhuwan International Airport by our airport representative for your flight departure from Nepal.
