Although the area is less high and famous than the adjacent Khumbu region, it is also mainly inhabited by friendly Sherpas. The Dudh Kunda lake is located at the foot of the mountain Numbur , with locals known as the " Yul Lha Shorung " (protector of the soul).

From Kathmandu you drive to Jiri and follow first two days of the old familiar route Jiri - Lukla before they switch to a new route , which leads through forests and sparsely populated . From the sixth day you will hike through pine and rhododendron forests, where settlements are rarely to be found . Once you have the Beni Khola crossing , you reach the Dudh Kunda and stay there to explore one day around the area. In order not to go back the same way you beat a path towards Khumbu and end your trek in Lukla. The next day, you fly back to Kathmandu.
