This unique 10-day journey combines Kathmandu’s cultural highlights with an unforgettable horseback adventure through the Everest region. After exploring the capital’s historic squares, local markets, Buddhist landmarks, and sacred evening ceremonies, you will take a scenic flight to Lukla and meet the horses and local team who will accompany you through the Khumbu Valley.

The route follows the legendary Everest trail through Sherpa villages, suspension bridges, forests, alpine valleys, and dramatic high-altitude landscapes. Ride from Lukla to Namche Bazaar, continue through Dingboche and Lobuche, and finally reach Everest Base Camp, with an acclimatization excursion to the Everest View area along the way. The journey offers spectacular views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and many other Himalayan peaks.

After reaching Everest Base Camp, return to Kathmandu by helicopter, enjoy a relaxing massage, and visit Patan Durbar Square before departure. Tour Itinerary

DAY 1

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, take some time to rest and recover from your journey. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner featuring authentic Nepali cuisine at a traditional local restaurant. Your guide will also introduce the programme and share important information about the journey, daily schedule, and upcoming activities.

DAY 2

Kathmandu Heritage and Spiritual Experience

After breakfast, begin a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where ancient temples, royal courtyards, palaces, and traditional Newari architecture reveal the city’s rich history. Continue through the lively Ason Bazaar, one of Kathmandu’s oldest local markets, before exploring the colourful streets, shops, cafés, and handicraft stores of Thamel. Later, visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of Nepal’s most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites, and experience its peaceful spiritual atmosphere. In the evening, proceed to Pashupatinath Temple to witness the sacred Aarati ceremony on the banks of the Bagmati River before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay in Kathmandu.

DAY 3

Flight to Lukla and Horse-Riding Introduction

Early in the morning, transfer to the airport for a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Upon arrival, meet the local team and the horses that will accompany the journey, followed by an introduction to basic riding techniques, horse handling, and safety guidelines. Later, enjoy a short familiarization ride through the surrounding area, combined with an easy hike to a nearby viewpoint. From there, take in the beautiful mountain scenery and the first impressions of the Khumbu region before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay in Lukla.

DAY 4

Horse Ride to Namche Bazaar

After breakfast, begin the scenic horse ride from Lukla toward Namche Bazaar, following the classic Everest trail through small Sherpa villages, suspension bridges, pine forests, and river valleys. The journey offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and an immersive introduction to the landscapes of the Khumbu region. Upon arrival in Namche Bazaar, check in at the lodge and enjoy time to rest and explore this lively mountain town, known as the main trading centre of the Everest region. Dinner and overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.

DAY 5

Acclimatization and Everest View Excursion

Today is reserved for acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. After breakfast, enjoy a gradual horse ride or hike to a nearby viewpoint overlooking the Everest region. Continue toward the Everest View Hotel area, where, on a clear day, you can admire panoramic views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Thamserku, and other Himalayan peaks. Spend some time enjoying the mountain scenery and peaceful surroundings before returning to Namche Bazaar. The rest of the day is free to relax, explore the local market, visit nearby cafés, or rest at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.

DAY 6

Horse Ride to Dingboche

After breakfast, continue the journey on horseback from Namche Bazaar toward Dingboche, following the scenic trail through forests, open valleys, traditional Sherpa settlements, and high-altitude landscapes. Along the way, enjoy impressive views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks, with stops for rest and lunch as needed. The route gradually gains elevation, offering a dramatic change in scenery as the trail enters the upper Khumbu region. Upon arrival in Dingboche, check in at the lodge, rest, and enjoy dinner before an overnight stay.

DAY 7

Horse Ride to Lobuche

After breakfast, continue the journey on horseback from Dingboche to Lobuche, travelling through the stark and beautiful high-altitude landscapes of the Khumbu region. The route passes alpine valleys, glacial terrain, and memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest, while offering dramatic views of peaks such as Pumori, Nuptse, and Lobuche. Regular rest stops will be made along the way to support gradual acclimatization. Upon arrival in Lobuche, check in at the lodge, rest, and enjoy dinner before an overnight stay.

DAY 8

Horse Ride to Everest Base Camp and Return to Gorak Shep

After breakfast, begin the journey from Lobuche toward Gorak Shep, travelling through the dramatic glacial landscapes of the upper Khumbu region. After a short rest, continue toward Everest Base Camp by horse and on foot where required, following the rugged trail beside the Khumbu Glacier. Upon arrival, spend time exploring the base camp area and enjoying close views of the surrounding ice formations and towering Himalayan peaks. Afterwards, return to Gorak Shep, check in at the lodge, and rest after this memorable high-altitude adventure. Dinner and overnight stay in Gorak Shep.

DAY 9

Helicopter Return to Kathmandu, Massage and Patan Sightseeing

After breakfast, take a scenic helicopter flight from the Everest region back to Kathmandu, enjoying spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas along the way. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in, followed by some time to rest. Later, enjoy a relaxing massage session to recover from the high-altitude journey. In the afternoon, visit Patan Durbar Square and explore its historic temples, royal courtyards, traditional Newari architecture, and rich artistic heritage before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay in Kathmandu.

DAY 10

International Departure

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy some free time depending on your flight schedule. Later, our representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your international departure. Bid farewell to Nepal with unforgettable memories of Kathmandu’s cultural heritage, the Everest region, the horseback journey through the Khumbu Valley, Everest Base Camp, and the spectacular helicopter flight back to Kathmandu.
